The capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur possesses a large number of tourist spots. From ancient monuments to the beautiful forts and the alluring Gardens, Jaipur has a presence of wide variety of Tourist attractions that has made it a dream destination. Jaipur enjoys not only a prominent place in famous tourist destination of India, but it also has equal importance in the global tourism map. The variety of attractions includes Hawa mahal, Amer fort, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, Birla Mandir, central park, artificial lakes and what not! The most alluring part of the city is its green beautiful gardens that not only makes tourist forget about the barren Thar located nearby but also it truly helps in further enhancing the beauty of this city. Some of the most famous gardens of the pink city include Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh, Kanak Vrindavan Valley etc. Ram Niwas Bagh is one of the most beautiful gardens in Jaipur.

Ram Niwas Garden was built by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh in 1868. This garden was built to surrounf the Central Meseum also known as Albert hall meusem. The idea was to surround this hall with greenry. With the development of the city the 70 acre park has now been shrunk to half of its original size. Apart from this this garden also incarnates pools, fountains and foliage. For the tourists this garden has also maintained several cafes offering fresh eatables. There is also a bird park, the Ravindra Rang Manch Theater and the Jaipur located in this garden. This zoological park was added to this garden much after its establishment. It was in the year 1877 when this zoological park was merged with this garden. This zoo serves as an amusement for the children. However, this park is relatively small and has only sixty or so species on display.

This garden was constructed with a special purpose. It was built to save the pink city from the clutches of drought. The main beauty of this garden lies in its greenery. It supposedly boasts a green cover in the midst of the beautiful city. When this garden is built nobody realized that Ram Niwas Garden will be of this much cultural and social importance that it has gained over the period. Having been built for a purpose, this garden served its purpose very well. Hardly does anyone remember that this city is a drought prone city because of the presence of these green gardens.

The entry of the park is free for all visitors and is open to the public for all seven days. However the zoological park inside remains closed every Tuesdays. It is considered one of the best tourist attractions for national and foreign visitors as well. The presence of the zoo makes it much more exciting for kids and the peace and composure in the ambience makes it a beautiful place for adults as well. Being near to the barren Thar Desert, one definitely can't expect such a beautiful garden in Jaipur.
